Group Acupuncture

group acupuncture

Group Acupuncture is acupuncture treatment received in a group setting (usually 5-6 people), where most individuals are sitting or lying on a therapy table for 30-45 minutes. Typically, a patient will receive six group acupuncture visits, though some insurance plans may vary on the number of visits allowed within a specific time frame. The treatment series may include additional visits based on the provider’s assessment.

During the treatment, practitioner will ask a few questions, and feel pulses on both wrists. This will provide information about the body’s constitution and current condition. An acupuncture treatment will be provided based on the practitioner’s assessment. Some individuals may not notice too much after an acupuncture treatment. Results vary by person and will be more sustained after a series of treatments. Some patients feel calm, or tired, while others feel clear and energized. One may experience slight discomfort around the needle site.
