Building Coping Skills During Breast Cancer Treatment
Evidence-based skills to maximize well-being and cope with common challenges during cancer treatmentIn this six-week group medical visit series, participants will learn skills based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to cope with common challenges during breast cancer treatment. Topics include managing worry and uncertainty, communicating with loved ones and your medical team, coping with treatment side effects, and getting better sleep. A benefit of group visits is the opportunity for participants to connect with others facing similar experiences. The group is facilitated by a clinical psychologist, a breast oncology nurse practitioner, and an oncology social worker.
Eligible patients include those who are in active treatment for breast cancer (stage 1-3) at UCSF. Participants must be available to attend all six sessions.
