Our faculty and staff value whole-person care, equity, compassion, and collaboration. We focus on wellness by emphasizing health promotion and illness prevention. We believe in empowering individuals by providing resources and tools that cultivate resilience and engage each person’s unique healing abilities.
We work closely with clinicians, educators, and researchers across UCSF and with our colleagues in the Osher Collaborative for Integrative Health.
What is Integrative Health?
Integrative medicine or integrative healthcare involves bringing conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way. At the Osher Center, we promote healing-oriented healthcare that takes account of the whole person. We emphasize the relationship between practitioner and patient, we seek out scientific evidence, and we work with a range of healthcare professionals, disciplines, and therapeutic techniques to achieve health and well-being.
