Experience
Dr. Bogdan Eftimie is a medical oncologist specializing in both solid and liquid tumor treatment, providing comprehensive care from initial diagnosis and active therapy through survivorship and supportive care. He practices integrative oncology, advancing whole-person cancer care—a commitment that began during his training at Loma Linda University in the late 1990s, where caring for body, mind, and spirit was central to his medical education. He serves as Medical Director of the UCSF–Washington Cancer Center and as a senior physician diplomate in the UCSF Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Eftimie will be joining part-time at the Osher Center for Integrative Health (OCIH), consulting with integrative oncology patients.
His clinical practice integrates evidence-based oncology with approaches that support symptom management, resilience, and quality of life for patients and their families, drawing on resources such as meditation practices, sleep, physical activity, nutrition and community engagement. In addition to his longstanding interest in integrative medicine, he completed the OCIH Fellowship at UCSF, deepening his training in modalities that safely and thoughtfully complement standard cancer therapies. His approach at the Osher Center emphasizes collaborative care—aligning conventional treatments with mind-body practices, lifestyle optimization, and supportive resources—to help each patient navigate cancer with dignity, clarity, and hope.
