This series is reserved for past participants in the Mindfulness Practices to Promote Health During Cancer Treatment or Self-Compassion for Wellbeing for Patients with Cancer group medical visits. Sessions can be booked individually.

These stand-alone group medical visits serve as follow-up sessions for past participants in the Minsfulness an Self-Compassion series designed to support people living with and beyond cancer. Integrative oncologist Dr. Chloe Atreya and guest practitioners will facilitate a laboratory in which to refresh your existing mindfulness-based practices and discover new areas of mind-body medicine.

Dynamic Mindfulness sessions will feature the “Transformative Life Skills Protocol,” a mindful movement sequence from the Niroga Institute, an Oakland-based nonprofit organization, among other practices. Dynamic mindfulness integrates movement, breathing, and centering to promote stress-resilience, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and adaptive coping.  The gentle movement sequences may be done seated, which additional modifications available. The four non-sequential sessions will  include repeated and unique practices.

The National Comprehensive Cancer Network, Society for Integrative Oncology, and American Society of Clinical Oncology recommend mindfulness-based practices to alleviate common symptoms including anxiety, depression, and fatigue. Each session will contain educational content, experiential practice, and time for discussion.
