Anisha Durve is a Doctor of Acupuncture & Doctor of Ayurveda (NAMA certified). She is an Ayur-yoga teacher, meditation instructor, and a leading expert and author in the field of Marma Point therapy. As a graduate of the respected Ayurvedic Institute, she spent 4 years training under world renowned teacher Dr. Vasant Lad at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico and Pune, India. She studied panchakarma theory and techniques such as Ayurvedic massage at the prestigious Indus Valley Ayurvedic Center in Mysore, India, one of the top 100 Ayurvedic centers in the world.
Anisha co-authored a clinical textbook on Marma with her guru Dr. Vasant Lad titled “Marma Points of Ayurveda: Energy Pathways for Healing Body, Mind, and Consciousness, with a Comparison to Traditional Chinese Medicine.” The textbook has helped revive the ancient art of Marma, and inspire a new generation to be interested in this healing modality.
In 2018, Anisha launched the Marma Institute to further education and formal training in Ayurvedic acupressure. Dr. Anisha was the previous president of the Ayurveda Association of Florida, and currently works at University of Miami’s Osher Center for Integrative Health as the Director of Acupuncture and Ayurveda, where she is pioneering a new vision for medicine in the USA.
