Experience and Current Work
Adriana Eslamian is an Internal Medicine Resident Physician at St. Joseph's Medical Center. During medical school she became interested in integrative medicine and wanted to be involved in medical research. As a 3rd year medical student from St. George's University, she became a Predoctoral Fellow in the TRIM program at UCSF. As a TRIM research fellow, Adriana worked closely with Dr. Rick Hecht and Dr. Laura Saslow on the LEGEND study which assesses the effects of different dietary approaches on blood sugar management in people with Type 2 Diabetes. She also published as second author on the protocol paper for the LEGEND study.
After her fellowship year ended and she returned to medical school, she stayed on the LEGEND study's research team to continue her work on the trial. She is planning on pursuing a career as a primary care physician and use integrative medicine to help offer her patients more holistic treatment options tailored to the specific needs of each patient.
