Introducing Osher WISE: A New Public Education Program
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Osher WISE (Well-being and Integrative Science for Everyone), a dynamic and enriching public education program designed to provide the latest information on current and compelling integrative health topics.
Formerly known as Osher Mini Medical School for the Public, this new education program will focus on topics related to whole-person health and well-being. Classes are led by integrative health professionals at UCSF and beyond to provide community members with an opportunity to become active, educated participants in their own journey to health and well-being.
The first course, “Lifestyle Strategies to Support Health and Well-being,” will take place on Wednesday evenings, 7:00-8:30 p.m., September 4-25. Chaired by Natalie Marshall, MD, this course consists of four lively presentations from experts on how to implement healing strategies to support health and well-being across the lifespan. The content will focus on evidence-based lifestyle strategies that have been shown to decrease the risk of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, and Alzheimer’s disease/dementia. Interested participants can sign up for individual classes or the entire course. All sessions are conducted via Zoom, making it easy for participants to join, regardless of location. Visit our website to explore the course details and register.
"Our mission at the Osher Center is to nurture health and inspire well-being in all people," said Shelley Adler, PhD, Director. "The new Osher WISE program is helping us to realize this goal through accessible, engaging, and actionable education information."
