Ayurvedic Medicine for Cancer Survivorship
Self-care skills from indigenous South Asian medicine to cultivate a balanced and optimal state of health
After cancer treatment many people are left with residual deficits that interfere with quality of life. Developing self-care skills is important for cultivating a balanced and optimal state of health. Ayurvedic medicine is an indigenous system of medicine from South Asia that emphasizes utilizing natural practices, including nutrition, lifestyle, and yoga to reach a state of balance within ourselves and with our world. During this eight-week group medical visit series, participants will learn essential self-care strategies and skills to create a personalized health regimen based on Ayurvedic medicine.
By the end of this 8-week group medical visit series, participants will be able to discover their mind-body Ayurvedic constitution, create and implement an individualized Ayurvedic nutrition and lifestyle plan, and implement yoga breathing practices for self-care.
