Mission statement

Our goal is to the improve the experiences of caregivers of people with serious illness, particularly patients with brain tumors. We do this by working with both family and clinical caregivers.

The goal of this project is to help improve the quality of life for caregivers, and hence the quality of patient survivorship by encouraging mutual empathy and respect, and reducing emotional and physical stress.

To fulfill this mission, The Caregivers Project has developed educational and training materials that are relevant for use in a variety of settings with a variety of audiences, including family caregivers, health professionals, medical trainees, and others.

A trailer for our film The Caregivers is available on Open Eye Pictures.

You can also watch the entire film online on our Resources page.

The Caregivers Project at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a collaboration between UCSF's Osher Center for Integrative Medicine and the Department of Neurosurgery.

Please note, this site is in development and is not yet complete. For inquiries about the Caregivers Project, please contact Steffanie Goodman at thecaregivers@ocim.ucsf.edu.
