- Integrative and Osteopathic Medicine Physician, UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health
Clinical Specialties at the Osher Center
Experience
Dr. Nadia Anderson is a bilingual family physician specializing in osteopathic manipulative medicine and integrative primary care. She completed her family medicine residency at Stanford Health Care–O’Connor and trained through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine’s Integrative Medicine in Residency program.
Her clinical approach combines osteopathic manipulative medicine with evidence-based integrative therapies to support whole-person health. She uses techniques including myofascial release, muscle energy, and craniosacral therapy to address musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, with a particular interest in perinatal and postpartum care for patients experiencing pelvic, back, and other musculoskeletal concerns during pregnancy and recovery after childbirth. As a registered yoga and meditation teacher, she also incorporates breathwork, mindful movement, and mind-body practices into patient care.
Dr. Anderson holds a Master of Public Health degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. Her clinical and public health work is grounded in a commitment to expanding access to evidence-based, whole-person care, particularly for communities that have historically had limited access to integrative health services. This commitment has informed more than a decade of maternal and child health advocacy in the United States and internationally. Her work has included developing a capacity-building initiative for postnatal care community health workers in Nepal and designing a wellness curriculum incorporating mindfulness, nutrition, stress management, and yoga for adolescent girls at the Girls L.E.A.D. Academy in Miami, Florida.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time in nature and with family, as well as traveling and learning from different cultures and ways of life.
