Analyst I

Job Summary:
The Analyst I position is a critical participant in the Administrative Program of the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine. This position provides administrative support to the core Administrative Program, including the Osher Center Director and the Director of Development and Strategic Communications.

The Osher Center is a research, education and clinical services program of the UCSF School of Medicine.

Responsibilities include: provide administrative, analytical and project management support to the Administrative Program, including assistance with calendaring meetings and contacting individuals and organizations on the Osher Center’s behalf. This includes maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information managing and coordinating communications to ensure timely and accurate messaging; provide resource and content materials and support for existing and potential donors to the Osher Center, as well as to the public through outreach activities, the Center’s boards and committees, and the stewardship of relationships; maintain records and statistics as needed, including preserving the confidentiality of those records; coordinate internal and external events (e.g. wellness expos, receptions, and lectures) from conception through post-event follow-up, including invitations, logistics, on-site management; draft and/or coordinate internal and external communications and donor relations materials which encourage people to participate in Osher Center programs and which enhance the image of the Center; maintain and update the Osher Center website and social networking links and messages, coordinating with various Osher Center and UCSF programs; assists with coordinating and marketing Osher Center programs as necessary; respond to all Inquiries from the general public via web and/or media sources; streamline and coordinate internal activities with other UCSF units; coordinate various annual reports, Board, and committee meetings; assists with Special projects as assigned by either the Director or Director of Development; will also perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
BA/BS with a major in a related field and one year of development and communications experience, including documented experience with web design and maintenance of websites related to healthcare or academic settings; experience with social media; three to five years progresive project management experience, administrative analysis or research or an equivalent combination of education and related experience; excellent interpersonal, writing and listening skills, diplomacy and tact, professional appearance and attitude; willingness and ability to work collaboratively as a team; work independently and set priorities with minimum supervision; previous experience with “Integrative medicine or CAM (complementary / alternative medicine; demonstrated ability to understand and interpret a broad and diverse set of policies; previous experience in an academic and/or, public health, or healthcare setting or non-profit organization, event planning and database management; one year of executive level administrative support experience; one year of experience developing and implementing marketing and/or communication and collateral materials. Physical Demands: requires bending, squatting, reaching up to shoulder height; pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds; reaching above shoulder level; sitting, standing, walking, waist twisting, kneeling; carrying/lifting 21-30 pounds; gripping/grasping, fine/gross finger manipulation; repetitive movements of upper and lower extremities; may be exposed to loud noises; differentiate color.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of development and communications experience; three to five years of experience developing and implementing marketing and/or communication and collateral materials; one year of experience with budget development and management; previous experience with the University of California system.
