The following complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) resources are licensed to users connected to the UCSF network including users connecting from off-campus through VPN. Some are noted as available for the general public.

AltMedDex
CAM subset of Micromedex which provides evidence-based information on herbal medicines, vitamins, minerals, dietary supplements (and interactions associated with use), as well as CAM therapies for a variety of conditions.
CINAHL - Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health Literature
Nursing and allied health literature including some full-text of selected alternative therapies, herbal medicines, and dietary supplements.
Cochrane Library
Provides full text access to systematic reviews and monographs.
ConsumerLab.com
Independent testing laboratory that evaluates consumer products including herbs, vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements. Please note there is a $24 per year subscription fee for full access.
eFacts Drugs Facts and Comparison
Provides full-text access to Herbal Interaction Facts and Review of Natural Products.
International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements
Access to scientific literature on vitamins, minerals and herbs.

Natural Medicines Comprehensive Database
Provides evidence-based and clinically relevant information on herbal medicines, supplements, vitamins, minerals, and natural medicines. NOTE: Site license to professional version allows two simultaneous users at Mt. Zion campus only.
Natural Standard
Natural Standard provides up-to-date, evidence-based information on
herbs and supplements, conditions, alternative medicine modalities, and
patient information. Subscription information for their free
e-Newsletter is available from their home page.
PubMed (CAM subset)
(Available to general public.) There is a subset of the Medline database which provides access to CAM citations. NOTE: Searches for citations related to herbs and dietary supplements are not included in this subset and can be searched at the top level of PubMed.
