The Clinical Practice at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine offers a variety of individual treatments. The physicians are trained in both conventional and alternative therapies and can provide a professionally guided approach to your health care. For more information about our practitioners, visit our practitioners and staff page. Please note that our physicians are not considered primary care providers (PCP). They will work in conjunction with your PCP in order to create a truly integrated plan.

If you feel uncertain about which treatments are best for you, consider scheduling an Integrative Medicine Consultation with a medical doctor as a first step. Visit our appointment page to schedule online or call: 415-353-7720. The forms you will need to complete before your first visit are available in PDF format. For more information (e.g., location, payment options, directions, and hours of operation), visit about our practice.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Acupuncture has been used for more than two thousand years in China to promote well-being and treat illness. In Chinese medicine, health is believed to result from the free flow of energy, called chi, in the body. Illness is attributed to blockages in this energy flow, which can be relieved by the placement of thin needles at various points in the body.

Practitioners are licensed acupuncturists who are trained in Chinese Medicine. Therapies may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, counseling and nutrition. Our practitioners have over 25 years of experience and specialty training in treating patients with a wide range of medical conditions.
